CREATIVE DUO ROAM THE WEST MIDLANDS ON PHOTO QUEST.
Rhonda Wilson and Lorna-Mary Webb are the creative and organisational forces behind Rhubarb-Rhubarb – the internationally renowned West Midlands-based Development Agency for photographic artists working with traditional and new technologies. In early 2011 they’re hitting the road to meet new and emerging photographers who wish to make more of their talents. They’ll be covering all corners of the West Midlands region, inclding the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum – Coventry, the Light House – Wolverhampton and The New Art Gallery Walsall.
The event is open to photographers based in the region and is free of charge. Photographers get a 25 minute portfolio review session with Rhonda, Rhubarb’s Creative Director, or Lorna-Mary, Company Manager. Both have reviewed far and wide internationally, at photo festivals held in the UK, USA, China, Korea, Poland, Denmark and France among others.
The focus is on portfolio development, advice on projects, editing, talking about your work, promoting yourself, potential contacts, working with agents/galleries and anything else you want to discuss about how to manage your practice.
The criteria for the review are as follows:
Third Year, Graduates and Emerging Artists of all ages
You are encouraged to show bodies of work or ideas in progress that you’d like to develop
You are open to the idea of working outside galleries (e.g. other places/ways to show work)
Bodies of work that have not yet been shown to the public (e.g. exhibitions)
