Saturday 17 March
8.30 for 9am start Gentle Relaxation Yoga
Garman Ryan Main Hall, Floor 1
*FREE, BOOKING REQUIRED*
A unique opportunity to practice yoga in the gallery spaces, surrounded by works of art. Come and give yoga a try in this contemplative, relaxing environment.
Gallery front doors will be open 8.30-9am. The class will start promptly at 9am, and finish at 10am, before the Gallery is open to the public. Mats can be provided, but do bring your own if you have one. The class is suitable for beginners. It is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to bring a bottle of water. If you have an existing medical condition, please consult with your doctor to ensure it is safe for you to do this activity.
10.30am-11am & 11.30am-12pm Mindfulness

Be guided in some basic mindfulness techniques, surrounded by Cornelia Parker’s print portfolio Thirty Pieces of Silver.
Reshape ideas of the self, learn ways to bring mindfulness into your life, and experience what it is to be truly present in all your senses. No previous experience necessary.
11am – 12.30pm Mini Masters Art Class
Activity Room 1
An experimental Family workshop inspired by Modern Master Frank Auerbach. View his work in the Landscape and Townscape room, then take inspiration from the window view of Walsall canal and replicate Auerbach’s painting technique to create a Mini Masterpiece!
12.30pm – 2pm SILVER – reminiscence session
Floor 2, Cornelia Parker room
Inspired by Cornelia Parker’s print series Thirty Pieces of Silver join us for an informal shared reminiscence session. Bring along your own piece of silver, or discuss and handle objects as part of the display.
2pm – 4pm Life Drawing
Floors 1&2
Come and join us for a drawing session in the galleries, with informal artist guidance, in the Figure Studies and Flowers and Still Lives rooms. Materials provided. No previous experience necessary.
4pm-4.30pm Audio Description Talk with Touch
Floors 1&2
A short audio described talk, incorporating elements of touch.
All welcome, and suitable for those with visual impairments.
