Event
Various dates. FreeDrop-in sessions to find out more about The Joy Project, for young people (16-24) to get involved with Walsall’s public collections and co-produce an exhibition and events programme for the Gallery’s 25th Birthday in 2025.
Introduction to the JOY project
The project aims to foster a sense of inclusivity and belonging at the Gallery for young people, who wish to explore the Gallery’s Collections in a joyful way, and come together to promote unity and positivity.
The project will be led by the young people, for young people, and will offer a unique opportunity to work with a curator to develop a project at the Gallery.
The Joy Project can provide:
- A voice for young people and their lived experiences
- Work experience and development opportunities
- An opportunity to build confidence, resilience and positive mental health
- A forum for discussion, debate and socialising
- A focus on mindfulness, positivity and finding joy in the everyday
Participation will be flexible to meet the needs of the young people, and sessions will take place roughly on a monthly basis over the course of the year.
