Simon & Tom Bloor

Birmingham based artists Simon & Tom Bloor make projects using a variety of artistic media that develop from research into diverse subject in an attempt to reassess obscure histories and flawed utopias, and to create shifts in context that encourage new meanings and alternative interpretations.

During their residency, Simon &Tom Bloor will be constructing all the furniture and practical items needed for their three months stay and will produce functional, nomadic ‘flat pack’ works using materials found within and around the gallery. Research into aspects of Walsall’s history will inform the decoration of these items and the sourced texts and quotes will provide a mantra for their work ethic.
