Walsall and West Africa Heritage Connections project

Tuesday 5 March, 6-7pm. Online (Zoom), Free.

Join us for an online workshop exploring some links between Walsall and West Africa, through The New Art Gallery Walsall Collections

Lifegate Communities have linked up with The New Art Gallery Walsall through the support of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, delivered via Walsall Heritage Forum, which aims to invest in communities to improve civic pride and ownership of our shared cultural heritage.

This online workshop aims to open up participation to wider audiences and provide an accessible format for those unable to travel to the Gallery for workshops onsite.

Join us on the evening of Tuesday 5 March to:

  • Discover some cultural links between Walsall and West Africa through works in our Collections
  • Contribute to a new interpretation of these objects to create a Collections trail at the Gallery as part of our Embedding Diversity project
  • Learn something new and meet new people
  • Have your say about the Collections you own!

This informal online workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn, share, and celebrate the diverse heritage that unites us and promotes engagement for wellbeing opportunities, promoting the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Be Active, Connect, Take Notice, Learn and Give Back.
