Collections Curator Tour
in focus on Epstein plasters

Saturday 2 March, 2-3pm. Free

Join Collections Curator Julie Brown for an introduction to a series of plaster casts by Jacob Epstein (1880-1959) which were transferred to Walsall from New York. This group of portraits includes both important historical figures, like Haile Selassie, as well as individuals with a personal connection to the artist, such as his first grandchild, Leda.

These works have recently been cleaned and conserved and are on display together now for the first time in Walsall alongside other works by Epstein in our Garman Ryan Collection. Come and discover why and how, thanks to the Art Fund, these works ended up in Walsall.
