Join Learning & Engagement Manager, Alex Jolly for an exploration of Happenstance, an exhibition of newly commissioned oil paintings by Birmingham-based artist Annette Pugh, whose work references traces of human presence in the landscape and unpopulated places such as remote lakesides, private ponds or the hidden crevices of public gardens.

Wednesday 25 October 2023

Session 1 – Primary teachers: 10am – 12.15pm

Session 2 – Secondary teachers/FE/HE tutors: 12.45 – 3pm

Taking inspiration from the themes, lines and colours in Annette Pugh’s exhibition, we will explore a variety of printmaking techniques including mono-printing and basic linocut printing.

We will create mono-prints using coloured inks and collage papers, then draw, cut and print our own basic lino block designs.

We will discuss how to apply print-making techniques to our teaching of students at various key stages and levels of study.

Take some time out from teaching to look, learn, extend your knowledge of contemporary artists, develop your making skills, play, experiment, and create your own prints to inspire your students.

Booking essential as places limited.
