Our weekly art club for children and young people. Meet artists and creatives and learn to paint, print, sculpt, craft, make films and more!
We welcome donations from families to allow us to offer these weekly artist-led workshops free of charge throughout the year.
Sunday 1 December – Clay Earth Heads – Make a mini clay sculpture of a mythical creature.
Sunday 8 December – Woven Festive Baubles – Weave paper decorations with artist Nilupa Yasmin.
Sunday 15 December – Funky Junk Decorations – Create Christmas decorations from recycled bottle tops and beads.
Sunday 22 December – Fabric Christmas Trees – Make hanging Christmas trees using sticks and fabric scraps.

Sunday 5 January – 2025 Calendars – Create four seasons calendars using oil pastels.
Sunday 12 January – Clay Hedgehogs – Model a spiky hedgehog using clay and matchsticks.
Sunday 19 January – Warrior Portraits Pencil, coloured pencil and collage portraits inspired by Charmaine Watkiss’ Plant Warriors in our Earthbound exhibition.
Sunday 26 January – Paper Huts – Fold paper huts and decorate with animals, inspired by The Sanctum of the One Eyed Toad (and Other Spirit Animals) in our Earthbound exhibition.

Sunday 2 February – Chinese Chain Snakes – Crochet a red snake for Lunar New Year.
Sunday 9 February – Pom Pom Keyrings – Roll felt pom-poms and create a keyring, a necklace or a bracelet.
Sunday 16 February – Woven Hearts – Make hanging woven hearts using card and wool.
Sunday 23 February – The New Art Gallery’s 25th Birthday Party! Join us to make Gallery bunting and enjoy some tea, squash and birthday cake.

Sunday 2 March – Parrot Prints – Print cardboard relief birds onto paper inspired by Yinka Shonibare CBE’s Dutch wax fabric.
Sunday 9 March – Power Badges – Make a badge for a special family member, or a badge to celebrate your own greatness!
Sunday 16 March – Clay Coil Pots – Learn to model pots inspired by Otobong Nkanga’s raku vessels.
Sunday 23 March – Plaster Cast – Plants Make a unique cast of flowers, herbs and leaves inspired by Jodie Carey.
Sunday 30 March – Flower Collagraph Cards – Print Mother’s Day cards inspired by Tania Kovats’s Last of My Summer Blooms.
