Compost Culture

“If food waste were a country, it would be the third biggest emitter of greenhouse gases, behind the USA and China.” – WRAP (the Waste and Resources Action Programme)

Compost Culture is a project working to transform people’s views around food waste and composting supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Birmingham-based organisations General Public, Incredible Surplus, The Active Wellbeing Society, St Paul’s Community Development Trust, Birmingham Friends of the Earth and Crick Gardens have worked in partnership to develop a pioneering programme of composting initiatives across the city where you can learn about turning food scraps into beautiful compost which can then be used for growing fresh, nutritious food locally.

The New Art Gallery Walsall are delighted to bring the exhibition to Walsall. Find out about different composting processes and how you can make a difference by composting at home.
