Zarina Bhimji
Yellow Patch
The New Art Gallery Walsall is delighted to present Zarina Bhimji’s latest film Yellow Patch which makes its world première simultaneously in Walsall and at the Whitechapel Gallery, London.
The film was shot on location in Mumbai, Kutch and Gujarat. Focusing primarily on landscapes and interiors, the artist has created a poetic and evocative exploration of place. Yellow Patch demonstrates Zarina’s interest in space, her characteristic attention to detail and her remarkable and sensitive handling of light.
Yellow Patch was co-produced by Outset Contemporary Art Fund, de Appel arts centre and The New Art Gallery Walsall with executive producers Artsadmin. Additional support was provided from Arts Council England, Framestore and individual donors.
