A Sense of Place workshop
with sophia moffa
A Sense Of Place, led by Creative Health CIC, took place across the West Midlands from Autumn 2022-Summer 2023, encouraging participants to connect with their surroundings, communities and public collections post pandemic, and use art and creativity for wellbeing.
The A Sense Of Place celebration exhibition, featuring work produced in workshops in Birmingham, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, Wolverhampton, and Walsall, is on display in the Community Gallery at The New Art Gallery Walsall, until 26 November.
Join Sophia at the Gallery on Saturday 28 October to experience an example workshop, and see other examples of works produced on display!
The workshop will be in two parts. For the morning session meet at the Gallery at 11am, and, enjoy a walk in nature with the artist to forage and collect materials, at either Walsall Arboretum or other local green spaces. Then between 2-4pm use the found elements to create your own mini house sculpture, by using glue and thread.
NB. if you prefer not to attend the morning session, the artist will have additional material or you can bring your own selection of leaves and branches from home if you would only like to join for the afternoon workshop.
All welcome. No experience necessary, and suitable for all age groups. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult to support them in the activity.
